Sky Kitchen, 3D Printed Food on Airlines - Concept

A team of designers in India have come up with a 3D printed food concept for airlines called Sky Kitchen. Sky Kitchen would work by integrating a touchscreen interface within the back of chairs on a plane which allows passengers to totally customize their meal before having it 3D printed out. They will be able to customize things such as the ingredients, the toppings, and even the shape of the meals. The team has put together a basic outline of how the user interface would work. As for the actual 3d printing technology involved, this is likely a few years away still. More details on Sky Kitchen can be found here: http://3dprint.com/16138/3d-food-printing-airline/

Check out a rendering of how the system might look. Would you be more prone to fly with an airline which adopts such a technology?

    Nope... Then again. Nope.

Then again, the TSA has turned me off of flying so deeply that I don't think free first class could get me in the air.
An extruded-paste-burger-substitute sure as heck doesn't even come close.
