3D Re-Printer Concept
What if we could have an all-in-one 3D printer and plastic recycling system, which worked wonderfully and also wasn't an eyesore. It could fit on one's desk and look not much different from what a typical MakerBot Replicator? Seems nice right? You could feed your plastic bottles in and print out whatever you'd like. A Team of Designers have come up with a concept for what they call the 3D Re-Printer. Note that it's only a concept but seems plausible if the user doesn't print and grind plastic at the same time. Let's hear your thoughts. Could such a machine work and be manufactured? More details on the 3D Re-Printer can be found here: http://3dprint.com/15103/3d-re-printer/
Below is a conceptual drawing of the machine:

no reason why it wouldn't work.
But given the sheer plethora of plastics in the home and the total lack of any composition details on them - how would you know you weren't mixing incompatible materials.
I think a filament based printer with a recycling hopper for putting in the waste would make a lot more sense.
Maybe a switchable option between filament printing and recycled parts printing.
Extruder not feeding during print,...
