yeah i already put my down payment on the printer im just wondering what they are like for real. took them a bit longer than i thought to send out even just one and still no look at it by a consumer.

Received mine <1 week ago. Not impressed at all. Prints look horrible. I ordered the assembled unit and the silicone rods had come off in shipment, the aluminum heating bed warps way too easily. I did numerous prints with different temps and profiles and all came out really, really bad. I emailed the team to have someone Skype me soon to work on it or I'm returning it. And returning it will cost you about $100 out of pocket for shipping and filament. It's costing you 1/4 to 1/5 the price of the whole unit just to send it back. They have tons of issues with the software. The initial batch of nozzles apparently is drilled incorrectly for most people, mine seemed fine though. Using ABS as well.

    Here's some prints:

https://www.dropbox.com/s/iqsolgplfgkams2/eevee.JPG <- Skeinforge 20%, med speed, med quality, no raft, no support.

https://www.dropbox.com/s/78zcz7xsu0xm3gt/IMG_5711.JPG <- the one on the left is Skeinforge 20% medium speed, med quality, no raft, no support. The one on the right is the same except 20% fill slow speed, high quality.

https://www.dropbox.com/s/qwdrp741tqodg06/IMG_5715.JPG same med speed med quality

The sample prints on their website are most definitely showroom quality. I can't produce anything remotely close.

EDIT: There is also STILL little to no documentation regarding the unit. They just uploaded build diagrams (not that it mattered for me, $25 to have them assemble to avoid this headache is what I wanted) a week or so ago. The unit has definitely been prematurely released, in my opinion.

Hello All, I am a kickstarter backer for this company...I along with a lot of backers have yet to receive our printers!!!! I believe they (ez3d) took our money to
buy parts to make printers to sell to other customers...this is fraud!!!! They pulled the plug on their facebook page.... I believe they did this because facebook was the only
way for backers and non-backers to communicate. In a way I am kinda glad I did not receive a printer.... from the comments here I have come to the conclusion that this
printer will never work correctly....I did just purchase a mbot cube (plywood frame kit) and in about 2 1/2 hours had the thing built.. after about anouther hour of tweaking I
made it print... Now I am not endorsing this printer...just saying there are quite a few really cheap printers out there that do work

They apparently killed the facebook page because they were getting too many comments and it was hard to keep track of support issues. I seriously doubt they took anyone's money. I personally am planning on using the motors and RAMBO card now to build something else. I just saw the rambo card is $199...How they are getting away with charging $399 for the whole unit assembled is beyond me. It makes MORE sense for me to just keep the unit instead of hassling with a return so I can use the parts on something else.

I agree that the design is novel and very unique thats why i decided to invest my money as a kickstarter backer for their printer.

But they have turned their back on us who invested in them. They have openly admitted that they are putting newer customers first under reason of money issues. they have blocked all public forums of user commenting from us. I.E. facebook, their website blog etc.

They are now blatently ignoring our emails askin for updates, refunds, or just to send us what ever they have on hand as many of us backers believe that we will never recieve our printers.

Kickstarter has successfully launched 3D printers and printing products, such as the hugely popular 3Doodler 3D printing pen from WobbleWorks -- but not every seemingly successful crowdfunding campaign has such a happy ending. Backed with over $100k in pledges, the Phoenix 3D printer from EZ3D was successfully funded back in October 2013, with a promise to ship units by March 2014, if not earlier. A full year after that, hundreds of customers from the Kickstarter campaign and the company's website have not received their 3D printers -- though many have been charged deposits or full payments. The Better Business Bureau has received 22 complaints and notes that EZ3D is not BBB-accredited, giving it an F rating. Updates from EZ3D have been completely lacking since December, and even the BBB has not received a response from the company. Read more about the difficulties in the full article: http://3dprint.com/50561/bbb-ez3d-kickstarter/

Ah yes, been there done that with makibox.
MY sympathies to these people. But I bet even phoenix won't ship the machine they've paid for and then sell it to someone else in the same country.

My only consolation is in knowing that whoever bought my printer is going to have to practicaly rebuild and redesign it to get it to work at all :-)

Seems they issued a apology last month saying they would try and replay customers over the next few years. I don't see this happening.

Their website has a letter that basically says they are done, and what went wrong in retrospect. It says it was posted back in February...kind of a sad read...

I don't know much about kickstarter, but can't you just limit /block the ammount of option? That way you won't have to deal with extra hundred of customers?
