Eastman and Helian Polymers Team to Bring New Filament

It seems as though the guys at ColorFabb are always up to something. Whether it is releasing their Woodfil or their Bronzefil, or some other new 3D printing filament. Now we have learned that the company behind ColorFabb, Helian Polymers has teamed with Eastman Chemical Company to provide yet another new 3D printing filament. More will be divulged at the 3DPrintShow in London in September, but this new material is said to be very tough, durable, and low-oder (styrene-free). Read more about this new material at: http://3dprint.com/10766/helian-polymers-filament/

This is their new opaque version of the xt which is pet. Very similar to the madesolid pet+. I had a chance to print a sample of this xt in the black shown. Totally awesome filament. Ver strong. Has the feel, flex and durability similar to polycarbonate. Layer bonding is unbelievable. Your part basically has no layer when done. Its a solid piece of plastic. It also has very low warp and shrinkage like pla does. Imo this is basically the filament of the future and exactly what the 3d printing community needs since we dont have heated chambers. We can now print large, functional items and not have to worry so much about warping.

Well, they certainly seem to be doing better than the parent company.
