Extruders from eBay? What are your thoughts?

Just buy a E3D hot end or Prusa nozzle.

Those nozzles you gave us are chinese, aint sure if those work well.

You would still have to buy the extruder and stepper if you went with either of those hotends. I'm not condoning the ebay extruder (I don't know anything about it) but the E3D or prusa (prusa nozzle is not really getting good reviews btw) are not really direct comparisons.

He never said that he already had a printer,
if he had a printer he already has a stepper motor wich makes the one you get with it useless, also E3D and prusa are even cheaper, when Prusa is quiet expensive for being a hot end.

And i've heard some good thing about the Prusa gen 2 tho,

Probably just the way they package the thing, but did you notice the position of the fan? To use this unit, you would have to remove and replace the fan so it blew air over the hot end, not over the body of the extruder feed.

Maybe the fan is cooling the hotend and the hobbed gear together?

Luigi, do you have any links to the gen. 2 prusa hotend? I haven't read a thing about a second version and can't seem to find anything about it.

Well i guess due the name kinda, Its Prusa :P

After that well, I can't see why it would be, it doesnt look to be hard to make imo.
I am kinda thinking on trying to replicate one on a cnc later on if i have some time (Not that you can't do it on a manual, but cnc well its always accurater ^^)

The heart of the 3D Printer is the extruder/hotend. It is one place where you want to make sure you have a solid/reliable unit. We have had very good luck with units from hotends.com matching that up with our in-house printed Wades type extruder for our Prusa i3 builds.
