Wide format 3d printer

What are my options for getting a 3d printer to print over a wide area. I see printers that will cover tall items, but I need to print things that are in the 36"- 48" wide realm. I would assume that carrying out the x and y axis would not be that difficult so why is it that I don't see these as options? Of course print time will increase, this is understood.

The larger the model the more warping that will take place. Warping over a 3 foot wide part even in pla would be terrible. You are always better chopping up a big model into smaller pieces then bonding it together
