Autocad Architectural Desktop as a Modeling Software
So I have been using AutoCAD since back when it was DOS Days. I am very familiar with it, and use it every day. I want to be able to model in AutoCAD Architectural Desktop for my home models. Have been considering Solidworks when I get into doing part design, or Mastercam. I know I do not need Mastercam, but down the road I do plan on putting in a Hass CNC Mill in the garage for car parts that need machined. Just wondering what solutions would be best. Also does anyone know if I could take a DWG file, put it into Solidworks, and then convert the Wall objects, window objects, and all into solids in there, then convert to .stl and then program or is there a better way. Right now I have a routine I have to run it all through and it takes forever.
