Well, it uses the MOD-T's patent-pending technology with a tiny tweak to make the racks non-removable. It looks a little bit sturdier in the z-axis, where it doesn't actually need the extra bulk. It has a below average print envelope...

All for nearly five times the cost of the MOD-T.

Oh, and they're promising a three month delivery time from a two-man company? Ha HA!

Looks like they just cancelled their KS campaign.....

We've decided to cancel our Kickstarter campaign for the TM1 effective immediately.
Based on lots of great feedback from our potential customers and our beta testers, we've come to the conclusion that the price-to-performance ratio for this machine makes it a poor fit for Kickstarter.
We are continuing development of the TMI and will begin online sales in the Fall.
Thanks so much for all your support so far, and please stay tuned. Come visit us atTekma3D.com for updates.

To be honest, I don't see why anyone would have backed it in the first place. They could have gotten a similar MOD-t for about 1/10 of the price.

Sounds like they managed to take a look at how long it takes to lease manufacturing space and equipment and figuring out that it makes it physically impossible to meet their deadline. In the long run, it's better for sales of the product to take down the KS and let it be forgotten quickly than have the embarassment of missing the deadline by a year or more. Good to see that honesty and practicality won over pride in this case.

First time I've seen acceleration as a spec.
