I recently published a software tool to design unusual gears of pretty much any shape you wish. I have successfully built several designs using CNC machines but I am hoping to get the attention of some 3d Printer enthusiasts.

The software offers more freedom of design than any other gear software on the market and is available, it is streamlined and intuitive enough to pickup and understand in minutes. It is also currently available for a fraction of a price of its nearest competitor (Gearotic). $39 vs. $120.

The demo is free and you only require a purchase for exporting.

Lastly, I am working on adding export to STL files, but for now DXF exporting is supported. My understanding is that most design software offers STL conversion so I think this shouldn't be an issue.
