New 3d Printer
ok guys, i`ve played around with 3d printing in school and decided that i now want one. I`m looking for something that will hold decent repeated tolerances, and decent print quality. ive worked with a makerbot before and after may hours on it, i decided that it is not very good. So i`ve heard of many others but not sure what to go with. looking for about a 10 by 8 by 8 inch plate, approximately, probably will stick with pla and abs unless you guys think there is something better. hoping to keep it under $600 but willing to budge a little. I`ve designed a lot of things in autocad that i`ve printed, so looking for something that takes that stl file or something i can with with that. Thanks in advance.

I Have two 270y X 220x X 190z Axis 3D Printers. I built a 3D Printer Enclosure to fit both 3D Printers out of a single sheet of plywood.
3DP11 and 3DP12 both Upgraded to Marlin 1.1.7 with plans for Marlin 1.1.9 bugfix.
I have printed both PLA and ABS using the Factory bed print Surface.
Ask if I would do it again the Answer is Yes defiantly.

Simple!
Can your desktop inkjet printer print a physical object like a coffee mug that you can pour coffee into then drink from this mug.
Can you color laser-jet printer print a Cell Phone mount the will hold your phone securely to your cars dash while you drive around.
It the printer your are using takes a plastic string like used in your weed eater an prints layer upon layer to form a 3 dimensional object,
An not a picture of a 3 dimensional object and this object can be used, then this printer could be a 3D Printer.
Types of 3D PRinters
Stereolithography (SLA)
Digital Light Processing (DLP)
Fused deposition Modeling (FDM)
Selective Laser Sintering (SLS)
Selective Laser Melting (SLM)
Electronic Beam Melting (EBM)
Laminated Object Manufacturing (LOM)
Binder Jetting (BJ)
