Rendor 3D Scanning Smartphone App Coming Soon

Soon there may be billions of 3D scanners on the market. Why, you may ask? A company called Replica Labs will be revealing a new smartphone application, first for Android, and then for iOS which will turn any smartphone with a video camera into a complete 3D scanner. The application will be called Rendor, and will be Free for all to use. Eventually they will put a limit on the number of scans per free account, and charge $12 to $25 annually per premium account, allowing for an unlimited number of scans. The technology seems very sophisticated to me. More details on Rendor can be found here: http://3dprint.com/5811/rendor-3d-scanner-smartphone/

Here is a quick video showing off how the technology works. Expect a Kickstarter project of Rendor to launch sometime in August.

This looks very intriguing. I would definitely give this a try at $15/year.
