    Creator X front cover.

I know there is a $60 kit out there to make a front cover for the creator x. This costs about $15 and a trip to the hardware store. The plastic size is 10" x 14". To remove it just slides out to the side. After many problems with ABS curling it is amazing how much difference this makes along with preheating the build plate before leveling.

I did something similar. I bought two pieces of plexiglass for about 2 bucks each. Then I just attached hinges into the preexisting holes on the side. Then I printed a couple little spacers to put under the hinges and a little latch to keep the door closed.

Spent about 6 bucks total (plus whatever those spacers cost to print) and the difference it has made is immeasurable.

I am also going to print a couple caps for those screws sticking out. photo.jpg

Ya I think I overpaid for my plexiglass at the hardware store, but I did have to buy a whole piece. They cut it to size for me and I have about 75% of the material left.
