South Korean surgeons have continued their success in creating 3D printing surgical models, only this time they have successfully melded initial surgery and reconstruction into one. Their patient needed a new jawbone after fighting oral cancer. With a new bone created from the patient’s fibula, and ready in surgery, the surgeons were able to rebuild the jaw right after cutting out the cancerous areas, thanks to a 3D printed surgical guide.
