Hermit Crabs Live in 3D Printed Shells for Commercial
In a new advertisement for UK property website Zoopla, hermit crabs can be seen examining and moving into 3D printed shells with miniature houses on their backs. The shells were designed and 3D printed by special effects company Artem Ltd., which used Stratasys multi-color, multi-material 3D printing technology. 3D printing, according to the company, was the only way to achieve the detail and realism needed to convince not only the audience, but the crabs, that the shells were real.
