NASA researchers will be busy bioprinting in space with help from researchers on the ground. Because microgravity makes it much more challenging to grow cells, the scientists are adding gold atoms to the cultures and then using magnets to manipulate them. The gold does not harm the cultures, and such work will allow the researchers to compare work being done both in space and on Earth—and may even help with cancer research.
