Wax Carving Kit to Remove Support Material

This is a tip that I saw elsewhere online and never even considered doing before. You can use a wax carving kit to help remove support material from your FDM prints. This is pretty brilliant I think. Has anyone ever done this before? It seems to make perfect sense, since wax carving tools are made for fine precision. They will allow you to get really accurate cuts so that you don't have any missed edges, or unwanted chunks taken out of your prints.

I use a wood carving kit, given that I am ham-fisted and lack delicacy.

Not sure how well a wax carving kit will do, given how much harder PLA/ABS is than wax.
