    Creator of 3D Printed Liberator Handgun Shot Down in 5th Circuit Court of Appeals

    Cody Wilson, creator of the 3D printed Liberator handgun and the Ghost Gunner CNC mill, was dealt his latest defeat today when the 5th Circuit Court of Appeals ruled that his First Amendment right to publish files for 3D printed weaponry online is superseded by national security concerns. Wilson can still appeal further, so it's likely we haven't seen the last of Defense Distributed v. Department of State yet.     What a crock of shit.

    Anyone who owns a 3d printer can easily design and print a firearm, even if it does only work once. This does nothing but infringe upon rights. You can go online and post how to build an incredibly deadly explosive, and that seems to be fine.

    You can make a gun without a printer as well. This is just overkill by the government yet again.
