We have seen dozens of 3D printed implants, as well as replacement parts, for the human body. The technology is progressing so quickly that it's almost scary. There have been 3d printed skulls, facial implants, 3d printed hands, fingers, and even legs. None of these prosthetics/implants have been as remarkable as the 3D printed Cochlea which was just created by scientists at the Laser Zentrum Hannover e.V. (LZH).

The team is actually developing cochlea implants which will be able to change their shape based on temperature, making the insertion of these implants much easier and safer for surgeons.
