Need more Innovation in RepRaps

Does anyone else feel that for the last couple years, there really hasn't been all that much innovation among RepRaps? I feel like we should be making more progress than we have been. We need new technologies. Why can't anyone come up with any groundbreaking ideas?

I think, really amazing is what people are doing with this kind of technology. When you have a look at all these 3D printing sites where people share their Ideas - there are lot of innovations. We have paste extruders, people making their own filament out of bad prints. The print quality improved a lot in the last years. There are so many different kinds of printers and modifications out there...every day I am really surprised what people are doing with their printers. In the next year the marked will rise exponential, printers are getting cheaper and more user friendly. Once a day it is plug and play...
