The Belgium-based 3D printing service bureau i.materialise has just unveiled their latest metal-based material, aluminum. Their 3D printed aluminum has a matte appearance, and has a rougher surface in comparison to traditionally milled aluminum. But, the material allows for very small details, and is ideal for creating lightweight and strong objects. Their new aluminum-based powder, which is printed using their Direct Metal Laser Sintering (DMLS) 3D printing system, is perfect for producing jewelry, functional parts, and spare parts.
