The Asia Pacific is the latest international region to attract global companies, and Singapore is on the map with its commitment to emerging technologies, including 3D printing, which is included in the 2016 budget's Research, Innovation, and Enterprise 2020 Plan. Singapore's Nanyang Technological University has also recently opened a multi-million dollar 3D printing research center that is already courting global and local companies with collaboration agreements. These companies represent Singapore's target areas for economic growth -- maritime, construction, and aerospace -- and will work with the Singapore Centre for 3D Printing to help make the country a "world leader" and "wellspring" of 3D printed knowledge.
