    3D Printed Arabic Style Ceiling

    I just saw this 3D printed Arabic Style Ceiling posted on imgur



    How the heck would someone go about printing someting like this? I guess you have to make a bunch of small pieces. It looks like it is painted too.

    I was just reading about this actually. Here is a picture of it in the early stages before they painted it. What they basically did was print out hundreds of pieces using 4 MakerFarm prusa i3 8" kits and a Ditto+, and then screwed it all onto a backboard and after paining it.

    It took around 350-400 printed parts that were gold leafed, aged, and mounted on wood panels. The moulding was cut on a cnc router and treated similarly to the printed parts. Get in on the action over at Reddit http://www.reddit.com/r/3Dprinting/c...this/?sort=new
