America’s Cup Yacht Gets 3D printed Parts

As the next America’s Cup looms ahead in Bermuda for 2017, Oracle Team USA will be fending off five challengers, one of which is the Land Rover BAR team, so dedicated to winning that they have built an entire base to create yachts for the race, with £6.5million funded by the British government. When it came to creating superior high performance parts for their winning yacht, they asked Renishaw to be part of the project. Using their winning combination of 3D metal printing and traditional machining, they have been able to create complex boat components.
