Baseline Software Render choices.

I saw a post some 6 months ago on the FB that had a rather handy tree of software to system to intent purposes.
It was very simple in showing a path to amateur print with Open Source wares to commercial with SolidWorks etc.

Would anyone have seen such a post? Or perhaps seen a tree similar?

I am trying to rally up a commitment to getting a printner for actually MAKING something besides Sci-Fi
figurines or 'art'.

My dream of course wold be to print a 5 polymer speed boat. That is NOT reality.

Any vocabulary or reference is most appreciated.
