Jason Preuss made news last year here for his 4-foot-tall 3D printed clock. His latest creations are inspired by paint by numbers scenes, and are 2D paintings that are 3D printed in an intricate process involving outlining a painting's shapes, separating different colored layers, and then printing the layers -- one color at a time. You can tell by looking at the paintings that they are quite colorful, using an average of 12 colors per painting. This accounts for all of the labor intensive work here. Preuss plans to document the process and even make some downloadable files available on his Thingiverse page soon. We're waiting... patiently!
