3D Printed Arm Brace for Panthers' Linebacker, Thomas Davis
As this year’s Super Bowl looms more closely, fans everywhere are building up the usual level of excitement, rooting for their favorite teams and players. During this game, Panthers’ All-Pro linebacker Thomas Davis will be sporting an unusual device, as he chose to be fitted with a 3D printed brace when offered several different options for supporting his arm, which has been rebuilt with a metal plate and twelve screws. The brace was engineered in a mere eight hours by the Whiteclouds design team, and then printed over a 30 hour period on a Stratasys Connex 3D printer. It’s constructed from rigid plastic and rubber-like materials, and encased in a soft, spongey foam. Read more at 3DPrint.com: http://3dprint.com/118418/super-bowl-3d-printed-brace/
