French forensic artist Philippe Froesch used 3D scanning and modeling technology and equipment to create what he regards as an 80 percent accurate reconstruction of the head of a young Englishman, Thomas Craven. Craven, like many young adult children of well-to-do English parents, left the family home in London for Paris, where he went to study at the university. In 1638, young Thomas died of the plague and nearly 400 years later, his remains were found in a lead-lined coffin.
