    less violent (shaky) head movement?

I have a QIDI printer which is reportedly similar to the FlashForge and the MakerBot Replicator 1 Dual.

I am new to 3D printing, but not to CNC.

I was wondering why the head movement is so violent?

My unit shakes quite a bit during the infill of the reference cube.

    Would adding shock absorbers help?

Is there a reason for not taking advantage of acceleration and deceleration?

    Do you have acceleration enabled?

Using Rep G you can tune the acceleration also to help with the jerkyness. Other than that printing slower overall helps.

If you are using the default makerware speeds of 90mm/s print and 150mm/s travel then the machine will probably sound like it is going to explode. Those speeds are for the Rep 2 that has only one extruder and therefore has a much lighter print head.

Did you export a print to SDcard in Replicator? If so, make sure you select the correct firmware level. I accidentally selected 'firmware prior to V7' which is the default and I thought the printer was going to upchuck a motor or something.
