Kent Wardle, a father of two young boys and an experienced designer using 3D printing technology who happens to hold a PhD in Nuclear Engineering, has created the Mixtrument. Inspired by his sons' "saxoflute," which had only one mouthpiece, Wardle designed his own versatile instrument for his boys. The Mixtrument is an entire kit of options to create a variety of woodwind-like sounds, with different combinations available for mouthpieces, bells, and sections with finger-holes. He's put the files on Thingiverse to share and get some feedback. Check out 3DPrint.com for more details and insights on the design: http://3dprint.com/94403/3d-printed-mixtrument/
