Following a successful Makeathon in mid-September, where people with disabilities collaborated with technologists, educators, makers, and designers, to create some amazing assistive devices, MakerBot announces its Assistive Technology Challenge which ends on November 1st. The idea is to encourage designers and makers to check out and improve upon the Makeathon prototypes uploaded to Thingiverse. The winner gets a 5th Generation MakerBot Replicator, and up to four runners up will also receive MakerBot ABS or PLA filament.
