If you don't like the keys on your smartphone for texting, you can always rig up a Portable Palm Keyboard (PPK), hacking it for Bluetooth and USB capabilities. The PPK keyboard is relatively inexpensive ($20), and uses little power. It's also folds up to be about as small as an Altoid container, and can fit into your pocket easily. The 3D printable OpenSCAD parts are available in these instructions. Before you know it, you can own your own alternative to the smartphone keypad, rendering you a much happier person who texts obsessively.
