Full-sized Knight Rider Car Created With Help from 3D Printing

David Hasselhoff fans, rejoice! Clement, Nicolas, and Patrick are three huge fans of Knight Rider, and they've taken it upon themselves to create--with the help of 3D printing--a full-size, working replica of the show's famous talking car, KITT (Knight Industries Two Thousand). Starting with a 1987 Pontiac Firebird and working over the last 8 years, first with glass fiber parts and now with 3D printed, the trio have used PLA and ABS to make all the features they were able to replicate. Check out the full story for a list of all the 3D printed parts and components of their KITT replica, as well as more details on its creation: http://3dprint.com/80491/3d-printed-knight-rider/

Below is a look at the KITT replica's interior:

    Salut, bien fait!

Alors, j'ai déjÃ* une Firebird de 1991, plusiers imprimantes 3D, et j'ai grandi dans les années 80... pour obtenir les .stl?

Also... can you describe how you protected the PLA from getting near to glass transition temperature in a black car in the South of France? And why it was preferable over printing 100% in ABS? Personally I far prefer PLA for rigidity and environmental factors, and have wrapped it in aluminium foil before, but this car will be an oven in the summer!

    Merci, Alex
