France-based BeAM has developed CLAD technology, focusing on metal 3D printing, with which they can manufacture metal components as well as repair damaged parts. Their capabilities are proving compatible with the aerospace industry, where tech advances can lead to better performing, longer lived parts. BeAM works with technology from IREPA LASER, streamlining the additive manufacturing process to use a CLAD nozzle system rather than the more often seen powder bed technique. Machines available from BeAM include the Mobile CLAD, CLAD Unit, and MAGIC, which offer varying build envelopes and axis and nozzle configurations.
