    Question first layer issues

    hello!

I'm using a powerspec 3d pro with S3d 3.0.1. I've had the printer about a week and i'm trying to print a golf tee from the following thingverse link. You can see in the image my printer just sucks at getting the first few layers to stick in a small circle.tried it with and without a raft, same outcome.

    http://www.thingiverse.com/thing:141076

    Some relevant info:
    • White PLA, 1.75mm
    • 3M painters tape on platform
    • 60C build plate
    • 210C print temp
    • 2 shells
    • 50% first layer speed

    raft

    • 1 layer
    • .2mm separation distance
    • 80% infill
    • 3mm offset from part

    Appreciate any help! Thanks.

Also you could try heating the build plate to 60c.
It makes pla stick to blue tape much better.

Also change your settings to 2-3 layers and shells and 10% infill with the 'print every infill angle' box ticked.
I really like the tringular infill pattern. It's quick and strong in all directions

It'll print faster, use less plastic and be just as strong.

I've just made some super strong brackets that will need to take a lot of weight and also flex.
Used 5 layers and shells and 20% solid tringular infill.
The layers give rigidity and strength while the infill allows for flex and impact.

By using shells and layers and different infill settings you can produce a surprising number of different material effects.
