Irish 3D printing innovator Mcor Technologies manufactures high-quality 3D printers capable of printing using paper material. The resulting 3D printed objects are so strong and durable that Mcor was asked by Irish Design 2015, a national design and crafts job initiative, to recreate a brick from the Rana Plaza, the commerical building that collapsed in Bangladesh in 2013, killing over 1,000 people and injuring more than twice that many. The project is meant to showcase Irish innovation and, in particular, to demonstrate how Mcor’s unique technology has many applications, including in construction.
