Thingiverse--emphasis on “Thing”--seems the perfect venue for Todd Schlemmer’s pinhole camera named for Kaiju, the genre of Japanese film that features monsters like Godzilla and Megalon. The camera design is based on the rudimentary, centuries-old concept of basic photography: It’s a light-proof box with a small aperture or pinhole that admits light, capturing whatever scene is in front of the opening and casting the image on the opposite wall inside the box. Schlemmer shared instructions and .stl files for 3D printing and assembling what he calls his “terraPin Kaiju 6x18 Pinhole Gamera,” “Gamera” being the name of one such Kaiju monster.
