Trint 3D Printer -- Made of Plywood for under $200

Estonian designer Kalle Lüütsepp is experienced with building CNC machines, and drew from that background to create a low-cost DIY 3D printer. The "Trint" 3D printer features a plywood frame, as well as more than a dozen 3D printed parts and some common electronics, alld esigned in SketchUp. The durable machine cost only about €180 (approximately $200) to build. With a build volume of 140 x 140 x 80 mm and 60 mm/s print speed, the Trint is a sturdy and quick 3D printer--and the files are available on Thingiverse now. I understand the whole using a plywood body concept in it's design, but a wooden print bed seems like a really bad idea. It wouldn't have cost much to put some glass as the bed instead of wood. And while I understand the whole point of making it simple and keeping costs down, the lack of a heated bed and that very short print height would be very limiting, even for this price.
