First print hot-end hygiene question!?!?! (HELP!!!!)

I'm ready for my first print, but it occurs to me that I have no idea what to do with the filament and hot-end when the print is done. I.e., do I just leave everything as-is after printing..., do I remove the filament from the hot-end (and if so..., any special technique to that?) Etc.

Essentially..., is there a checklist anywhere for what to do and when regarding the hot-end and filament?

    Thx!!!

    FWIW..., "hollow_cube".., PLA.

Most people leave the filament in there if you're going to print with the same thing again. Let it cool in the hotend. If you know you're going to switch pull it out while it's still hot, or heat it back up and pull it out.
