First Fully 3D Printed Aerial Drone, CAPTOR

Built by a team of Dutch Engineers from TU Delft, the CAPTOR UAS is the first unmanned aerial vehicle to be fully manufactured via 3D printing. The company says the 3.5 kilogram vehicle can fly for up to two hours at 16 meters per second using its high-torque electric motors and a novel, snap-together design which obviates the need for assembly tools in the field. The first fleet of the ABS and carbon-fiber wrapped devices will be delivered to a customer in July of this year. You can read the whole story here: http://3dprint.com/61147/oqualia-3d-printed-uas/

Below is a look at the CAPTOR:

So it's fully 3d printed... except for the batteries, and the motors, and the electronics... oh yeah, and the carbon fiber skin covering the whole thing. Hardly "fully 3d printed"

"fully 3d printed" is really about how this UAS has been manufactured. The carbon fiber skin moulds are 3d printed as well.
