UNIZ Technologies, SLASH LCD SLA printer Questions

    Hello everyone,
I am in the market for an SLA printer and I would like to know what you experienced SLA printer owners think about the UNIZ Technologies SLASH SLA printer.
You can find it on Kickstarter

It's not a printer, it's a fund-raising ad on Kickstarter. Kickstarter is not a store; it's more like a casino. If you want to gamble $999 that this becomes a real product and delivers on its promises, go for it. But don't ask us what we think of it, because nobody knows if this is a product or a pipe-dream. If you want a printer, buy one that's already on the market which gets good reviews from users. This thing is not even close.

well I'd argue with some of that in this case.

The videos clearly show an actual physical printer printing actual physical things.
So that right there puts it way ahead of most kickstarter printers.

That said - any thing on kickstarter is a gamble and if the company does go tits up you will not get any money back.
Also you've usually got 12-24 months from the time something srats up on kickstarter until you actually get anything (assuming you do get something)

So while I am impressed by the machine shown in the videos, I still wouldn't order one untill it was available with immediate delivery.

Thank you for your responses, but perhaps I didn't make my intensions clear. I have invested in many a crowd funded product and know the risks. When I stumbled on to this forum I thought I read that people are having issues with SLA type printers, materials, and software and all I wanted was an opinion of the engineering and process of this SLA printer using a LCD instead of a laser.
I did not want to bore everyone with my backround but if you have time to look at my profile you will see I am not a new the the 3D print and scanning world.
I apologize if I wasted anyone's time by asking for their opinion about the technology. I would like to end this thread by saying again I apologize if you wasted your time reading and responding. I will continue to read threads where people are having issues and draw my own conclusions from there. I do think this is one of the better forums I have found for information covering the many aspects of the 3D world.
Thank you again for your time.

It sounds like, with your background, you're in as good a position to evaluate this product-to-be as any of us. So what do you think about it?

I, too, am interested in this project. I've written to the company with a few questions, and got a prompt reply. The batch that's scheduled to be shipped in December is probably sold out by now (only one was left, yesterday), but there are still plenty available for the February batch. They mentioned doing a larger, industrial version, too. I was sent a link to a gallery (https://imgur.com/a/lYkAR), which I've been looking at to compare their test prints with those of other printers. Something I noticed is that the SLASH prints seem to be covered in little specks of excess material, in some cases making them look almost furry. Whether that's an effect of pushing its speed to the maximum, or that such artifacts show up in all its prints, I don't know. My primary concern is being able to print accurately with fine detail, so the feature that supposedly prevents prints from sticking to the bed has really got me interested. If anyone here has opinions on whether the results touted for the SLASH are realistic, or can enlighten me about the "fur" issue, please do join in the conversation. Thanks.
