German student Lukas Hoppe is taking on a monumental DIY project: building of a Selective Laser Sintering printer on the cheap which he says includes all the key elements of industrial machines, but using an open source design. Hoppe calls it You-SLS, and he wants his printer to be the cheapest SLS printer you can get your hands on. While there are a number of projects underway to build prosumer-level SLS systems, Hoppe believes he can build his printer for around $2000. He's set up an Indiegogo campaign, as well as putting his progress online at Instructables. You can read the whole story here: http://3dprint.com/60563/you-sls-printer-for-2000/
