Wow, this is a pretty big story. The United Kingdom has announced that they will be investing £15 million to create a National Center of 3D Printing, which will be operational by next year. The UK government sees this as an opportunity to expand their position in worldwide aviation manufacturing. With the help of 3D printing technology they wll be able to tap bills or even trillions of £'s over the next several years.

"We are already the best in Europe for aerospace and I want to do even better. Up to 27,000 new planes are needed between now and 2030, worth billions of pounds to the UK economy in contracts. That is why I am announcing today that, together with industry, we will invest around £60 million in a dedicated facility for aerospace manufacturing as part of £2 billion of support for this growing sector," stated British Finance Minister George Osborne.

The new 3D Printing Center will be an expansion of the Manufacturing Technology Centre at Antsy Park.
