We've seen a few 3D printers in the past that were build using LEGO blocks -- but this is the first we've seen that is made of LEGOs and prints with them. BlueBrick Studios submitted their idea to Ideas.Lego.com this week, with designer 'ev3rything_is_aw3some' nothing it took about 20 hours to build to '3D printer.' The supplies for the project came from the LEGO MINDSTORMS EV3 set, and places LEGOS down according to a simple computer program. It's already won a few awards, and BlueBrick Studios is hoping to get the project turned into a LEGO set -- and they need support to do it. This '3D printer' isn't especially useful for real 3D printing projects, but it certainly is an impressive feat of design and ingenuity.
