I tried setting it too 1/4 with 3200 steps but when I tried to move the Z axis it really skipped alot
when i set it to 1/8 with 6400 steps.. it was fine

on the LCD when i check the motion setting for the Z steps.. the display says +9999 for some reason

get a cheery mx keyboard switch they are +-.02mm the basic endstop switch is +-.40mm with an avg of .10mm with a good one
or do some type of optical arm
Thanks for the suggestion on the MX Switch, i like them much more then the regular endstop microswitches, I also made up a servo probe arm to hole them.

usb3.0 with a polling rate over 100Mhz powered by a dual core 600mhz arm cpu)

Cool. I had earlier asked if there was a servo mount for this type of switch.

It looks, though, that you might have some need of my caliper holder: http://www.thingiverse.com/thing:570778
