Best way to switch from ABS to PLA?

I just finished a print with black ABS.

I am now printing with white PLA. Black ABS bits are showing up after 3 print attempts. It just wont die. What is the fastest way to clear out an extruder when switching?

Purge it, turn manually the gear or control it via repetier.
I usually purge 20cm of filament.

Yea I think it will need a lot of extrusion.

use cleaning filament. run it through, let it cool to 150 or so , pull out the top, 1-3 times of that should clean it out.
