Attendees at this year’s South by Southwest festival in Austin, Texas will have the opportunity to see in person the high-tech wearable Ruff, a 3D printed garment that acts as a performative extension of the wearer’s body. As part of the Creators Project, architect Behnaz Farahi and fashion designer Pauline van Dongen teamed up create the piece, which is a modernistic update of the large, ostentatious ruff worn in the Elizabethan and Jacobean periods, the piece is something like a large, wearable slinky that moves as the wearer moves. Find out more about the project, and check out a video of the wearable in action, in the full article: http://3dprint.com/51292/3d-printed-wearable-ruff-sxsw/
