    opinions....everyone has one

    I currently have a Cube.( i know,i know)
looking to getting a FF pro.
I mainly build smaller parts, less than 75mm x 75mm, the cube makes them ok.
but i really want better detail and quality.
Is this the right printer for that?
    or should i look elsewhere?
the price on this one looks good, and so do the capabilities.

    thanks for any help.
oh BTW, also first post here.

Here are a couple of things, the E shaped part is about 3.5"long.

I put a dime on the image to show the size of the 2 other parts. The orange nose is supposed to be crooked like that. :-)

The other black part is a lever, it isn't the final version, just one size that I tested. The black parts are ABS/carbon fiber mix, the orange is ABS.

Those were all done at .2

They actually look quite a bit better on the desk, the photos are in a macro mode and it amplifies any little defect.

    bottom side of same piece

this is printed on my cube, PLA
biggest piece i have done, almost 5 inches long.
but when i start making small parts the grain really gets worse, and the small part definition just goes completely away.
I want something that can make better small details than my current printer

That piece looks pretty good, but it looks like it is over extruding a little. You can see the waves on the top and that can mean over extruding. This might be why smaller parts aren't coming out right. Do they have any extrusion adjustments on the cube software now? Maybe decrease the infill percent a little, that helps with extrusion build up some. It looks like a handle or knob of some sort so probably don't want to go too low on the infill %.

Mine was also set at 80mm/s speed and 120 travel. Probably could slow it down but the acceleration in the firmware never let it get above 30-40mm/s on the smaller pieces.

    thanks.
I have no speed are extrusion adjustments.
over time i have played with this enough to learn its upsides and shortcomings.
and tend to do the best i can with it. its very limited on adjustments.
i have to edit the drawings to get what works with the machine.
i with the adjustments of a better machine I can get better prints over time learning the new machine.

With the Flash Forge you also need to make some small tolerance adjustments on close fitting parts. It's just the nature of 3d printing. I am sure some High end machines might do some auto compensation but you are looking at 10s of thousands of dollars for that type of functionality.
