    Handheld LEGO 3D Printer

Vimal Patel, a student who works at LEGO, was challenged in a university project titled monomateriality to come up with a design using only one item in the design. After multiple experimentations, he designed an extruder made of LEGOs, attached to a hot glue gun. It extruded in a fashion that looks somewhat like a 3Doodler pen, creating some cool designs and a helmet. He is also releasing the files for his LEGO extruder. Maybe I am being dense. He stuck some logos on a hot glue gun and re-invented a far more cludgy 3Doodler pen. And this is news?
