Smartfriendz has released a new 3D printer, the SmartrapCore, in hopes that it will have the same success as its predecessor, the Smartrap. Following in line with the same processes as making it available on Thingiverse and Github, they’ve relied on their dedicated and enthusiastic community for feedback and have already made a number of updates to the SmartrapCore 3D printer, which is situated in a wooden box that can be completely constructed with parts from a hardware store, with all the 3D printer parts available for download and 3D printing. It follows the RepRap concept, is open source, easy to put together, and affordable at €320 for the base kit.
