Amazing 2-String 3D Printed Violin Could Revolutionize Music

April 16-17 in New York City, the 3D Print Design Show will take place at the Javits Convention Center -- on display will be five 3D printed instruments that might revolutionize music making. These 3D printed instruments are presented by FIU Associate Processor of Architecture Eric Golemberg and his MONAD Studio partner Veronica Zalcberg in an installation called 'MULTI.' Among the instruments will be a 2-string piezoelectric violin, a monobarasitar, a cello, a small didgeridoo, and a hornucopia (a large didgeridoo). MONAD Studios has been working with musician Scott F. Hall to reimagine a variety of instruments. In April, three of their musical creations gave their debut performance at 3D Print Week NY. Now,they have released the fourth member of their 'Multi' project, a large brasswind instrument designed to create a low, continuous pitch much like the didgeridoo.
